Photography has been the defining creative force in my life. However other avenues of expression have also been explored, the written word principally. I grew up thinking I was to be a writer. I started writing before I starting taking pictures, pounding out little short stories at my parents kitchen table on an old Olivetti typewriter my dad pickup up for me somewhere. Over the years I wrote and published bits and pieces, a short story here, a poem there. It was the essay, however, that spoke to me strongest. And still, when I sit down to write, the essay is the form that comes most naturally. I have below linked a few represential recent pieces, collected from corners of the internet.
