The Maine Literary Portrait Project
In 2015, in conjunction with, and support from, the Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance, I made portraits of 50 of Maine’s best known writers and poets. Maine is unique in its density of creative individuals, the literary arts being no exception. The conceit of the project was to photograph the writers in their writing space. Upon completion of the project, all 50 pieces, were exhibited in the Lewis Gallery, Portland. After the exhibition came down the photographs were distributed to the writer’s hometown libraries for permanent display.
